About

The WordPress training team helps people learn to use, extend, and contribute to WordPress through synchronous and asynchronous learning as well as downloadable lesson plans for instructors to use in live environments, via learn.wordpress.org.

Learn WordPress makes WordPress knowledge accessible to all by empowering individuals around the world to create, contribute, and grow within the WordPress ecosystem.

Who is the Training Team?

We are volunteers with a wide variety of skills and a passion for providing instructional materials for presenters. We work in development agencies, solo businesses, classrooms, and more. We are project managers, technical writers, designers, developers, trainers, and teachers.

To learn more about different roles and ways to contribute to the Training team, visit the Team Roles page.

Team Leadership

The 2024 Team Reps for the Training Team are Kaito Hanamori (previously Benjamin Evans), Destiny Kanno, Laura Adamonis, and Jamie Madden (interim).

Do We Create Online Videos?

We create tutorial videos. Tutorials are practical on-demand videos that show viewers what they can do with WordPress. These videos are usually captioned and subtitled in multiple languages. Each workshop has a quiz and once completed, participants can share what they have learned, putting it into practice or taking part in a discussion group. You can also access online tutorial videos on Learn WordPress.

We also have videos to help new contributors get oriented to the team. These are located on our Youtube channel.
