Creating Lesson Module Quizzes/Activities

Quizzes or Lesson Activities allow learners to test their knowledge and understanding of the Lesson content.

Quiz questions or practical activities should be action-based to help learners apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills.

When creating quizzes:

  • Try to pose practical or scenario-based questions as opposed to only knowledge-based questions. Recalling information is the most basic skill to evaluate. We would like to help learners to define, explain, and ultimately create.
    • For example, you can use multiple-choice questions:
      • You are receiving a lot of spam comments.  What are some settings you can use to help reduce spam? Select all that apply.
  • Generally, quizzes should have 3-5 questions to help learners assess and solidify what they have learned.
  • Vary question types, modify multiple choice questions, and also use true and false questions. You could also use the BlockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. Editor to upload images if you would like to show an example or sketch a scenario.

When creating activities:

  • If you choose to include an activity, opt for a practical task that empowers users to apply and implement the knowledge they’ve gained.
  • Design activities that involve practical problem-solving.
