Hello Polyglots team,

My name is Abdullah, and I’m the owner of GSheetConnector. We actively work with the WordPress translation ecosystem and regularly deal with POT, PO, and MO workflows for plugins and themes.

We recently built a tool called POForge (https://poforge.com), which is a browser-based utility designed to work with standard WordPress POT files and generate PO and MO files for local testing and review. The goal is not to replace existing tools or GlotPress, but to provide a lightweight, manual-first workflow for editorial, contributors, developers and translators who need to quickly validate or test translations in a real WordPress environment.

Before going further, we would really value feedback from the Polyglots community on:

  • Whether a tool like this fits into real-world WordPress translation workflows
  • If there are gaps in current tooling that POForge could help address
  • Any risks or concerns with such an approach from a Polyglots perspective

If anyone is open to reviewing it or sharing workflow feedback, it would be extremely helpful in making sure the tool aligns with WordPress localizationLocalization Localization (sometimes shortened to "l10n") is the process of adapting a product or service to a particular language, culture, and desired local "look-and-feel." best practices.

Thank you for your time and for all the work you do for the WordPress translation community.

Best regards,
Abdullah
