Looking for feedback

  • Weโ€™re moving forward with issuing certificates for course cohort students. Unlike automated completion certificates, these will require active class participation, assessments, and passing an exam. Feedback is welcome to help refine the process (see #3247 for details).
  • We had an interesting discussion on general learning methods, the current state of the platform, and proposals. Join the conversation and share your thoughts (see #3278 for details).

Looking for volunteers

  • Plans are underway to organize local workshops to make sessions more engaging. Both new and experienced speakers are welcome to participate, and co-hosting with seasoned presenters is also encouraged. Here are links for the last meeting for more information:ย Slack Log.
  • We already have strong interest in the upcoming workshops, with 10 participants showing interest. Thanks to everyone who signed up!

  • We are actively testing the Polylang translation pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party., so we can fully translate all courses in different languages.
  • We are updating all the handbooks and necessary documents.
  • Working on outdated content and broken links.

  • Weโ€™ve had a lot of discussions around the certification process, but now itโ€™s time to move things forward. Weโ€™re considering issuing certificates specifically for course cohort students. Unlike automated course completion certificates which can sometimes be misused cohorts are different. In a cohort, students must actively participate in regular classes, complete assessments, and pass an exam before earning a certificate.

The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. Editor Basicsโ€œ.     • @mohkatz: Weโ€™re working on translating a few documents into mainly Luganda and Kinyarwanda, and also Swahili, almost done with WP Credits presentation translation and a few others and we will submit soon hopefully in the next few days. Also planning on translating some more and helping review and edit any errors or typos in existing ones in English. As well as plan for supporting and organizing local training Meetups in Jinja and support or co-host any workshops here.

If youโ€™re interested in volunteering for this task, simply leave a comment, and weโ€™ll provide the necessary instructions to get started.

We need help from contributors, they will just visit all the learn WordPress posts and list the URLURL A specific web address of a website or web page on the Internet, such as a websiteโ€™s URL www.wordpress.org of the lesson where the thumbnails need to be redesigned. We can guide them, but we need some interested persons.

  • Proposal for Certification Process โ€“ Weโ€™ve kicked off an engaging discussion about Certification, whether itโ€™s needed, and how it could be integrated into the current Learn WordPress workflow. Youโ€™re welcome to join the conversation and help shape the future of WordPress Learn โ€“ Feedback โ€“ plans to offer verifiable certifications upon course completion #3247. Please join us in a discussion about certification. It is a very important topic for all contributors โ€“ old and new.
  • Weโ€™ve made significant progress on the thumbnail generator project, with most thumbnails successfully updated. However, a few content thumbnails still use outdated designs or donโ€™t comply with our thumbnail generator guidelines. If youโ€™re interested in volunteering for this task, simply leave a comment, and weโ€™ll provide the necessary instructions to get started. Our colleague @MosesCursor took the responsibility for this project, and he is the person you should contact and ask anything about the project

  • We are actively testing the Polylang translation pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party., so we can fully translate all courses in different languages.
  • We are updating all the handbooks and necessary documents.

    • @piyopiyofox said that she had two things she wanted to bring up:
      • She had mentioned the upcoming course cohort in the Monthly Education Buzz Report for July 2025, and added that if there were any other educational initiatives the Training Team was working on โ€” such as a new course cohort, new learning pathways, or tutorials โ€” she would like to be informed so she could include them in the next edition.
      • She asked if the Training team would be open for sharing space at the table with her and @peiraisotta to talk about WordPress Campus Connect and WordPress Credits, if folks ask about it? Mostly informational.
