Training Team Update – August 31, 2025

Here’s our monthly roundup of updates, highlights, and ways to get involved. Let’s celebrate the work accomplished this month and look ahead together!

📌 Highlights

Here are some important updates from the Training Team!

  • 🏫 The first cohort from the Training Team has officially started – we finished Week 3 of this 6-week course titled “WordPress BlockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. Editor Basics“.   • 🏕️ WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. US 2025: our dear colleagues @jonathanbossenger and @westnz did a great job at WordCamp US 2025 Contributor DayContributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time.   • 🖼️ Collaboration with WP Campus Connect project: the Training Team started collaboration with the WP Campus Connect and WP Credits project. We managed to prepare a translation of the WP Campus Connect project presentation for 3 languages (Italian, Polish, and Spanish). More to come in next month!
  • 🧭 Training Team Coffee Hour is live again! It is added to the Training Team meeting calendar, and it is held every Saturday at 13UTC.

⚒️ Training Team Activities in August Overview

We hosted 4 team meetings and 5 Coffee Hours from the Training Team. Weekly meetings were facilitated by team reps, and coffee hours by Training Team contributors. You can read the recap notes on the Training Team blog.
