Updates

• The team will focus on GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ issues marked with 6.1 here.
• The team has had some discussions on faculty meeting host rotation.
• The team will be updating the handbook page.
• The team will be working on a content localization project.
• The team is planning to invite more localized content and translation contributors who worked previously and want to engage again.
• The team will soon have a recap post for “Course Design Review and Best Practices with Allie Nimmons (@alliennimmons)”. The link to the recorded Zoom meeting can be found in Slack.

• Upcoming online workshops
• Training team hosted 12 hours of WordPress Translation Day – Contributor Day on Sep 30. There were 31 attendees in total across the globe (Asia, Europe, Africa and North America) attending the event virtually over Zoom. During the event, we’ve gotten 1 full lesson plan translated in Serbian and there will be a Hindi version completed as well. This was a great onboarding session to welcome new contributors as well with more than 50% being first time #WordPress contributors. We will aim to facilitate more events of such in the near future. WordPress 6.1 Sprint

• Information Sources for WP 6.1

• We are aiming to complete text, screenshots, and familiarization by October 11 (RC1 release date).
• We are aiming to complete videos and tutorials related work by October 28.Discover what needs to be revised/created and to add/edit in WP 6.1 on GitHub.
• SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) team will be working on a proposed priority list (provided by @annezazu) for November 1, 2022.
