Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Block Editor: Quote block support, UI for invalid blocks, nested list creation, and regression fixes.
  • Offline Support: Offline Posting is seeing steady progress in both platforms with incremental improvements on every release.
  • Infrastructure: More progress on the UI testing project, improvements on Gutenberg UI to make it more testable, finished implementing network mocking for both platforms.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Block Editor:  Video block support, rich-text image captions, a11y of “unsupported block”, efforts to update to latest Gutenberg master.
  • Offline Support: Initial improvements to the Offline Posting Experience, updated the Offline Principles.
  • Infrastructure: We made a lot of progress on the UI testing project, and we shipped WordPress iOS launch time improvements. We updated the build instructions for iOS and Android.
  • Marketing: We are working on some assets requested by Google to promote the WordPress app to Pixelbook users.

  • Block Editor: List block support (on Android), accessibility improvements.
  • Post Filters in Android completed.
  • Offline Support: We’re focusing on the technical and design considerations for posting.
  • Infrastructure: Rolled out Sentry for crash monitoring, investigated apps download size and implemented Android app bundle to reduce size, made some improvements to our docs.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Block Editor: List block support (on iOS), Separator block support, caret fixes, on-device automated tests, other fixes and refinements.
  • Final Post List & Filter improvements in Android currently in review.
  • Offline Support: Wrapped up Improved Messaging, started working on Improved Posting.
  • Infrastructure: We moved the Gutenberg integration tests forward, migrated WordPress iOS to XCode 10.2, and made incremental progress on a Fabric replacement.

  • Offline Support: Working on scoping the project for an enhanced posting experience while offline.
  • Infrastructure: Started working on the Block Editor Integration and UI tests.
  • Marketing: Finalized designs for the https://wordpress.org/mobile/ redesign.

  • Infrastructure: We continued working on end-to-end tests on Android and iOS.
  • Marketing: More progress on the https://wordpress.org/mobile/ redesign.

  • Block Editor (Gutenberg mobile): Some important bug fixes on the v1.0 while in beta rollout.
  • Post Filter improvements in Android continues.
  • Offline Support: On iOS we are migrating offline messages from Alerts to Notices.
  • Infrastructure: Migration to CircleCI completed, more work on end to end testing infrastructure.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Gutenberg mobile: We are releasing v1.0! Please head over the announcement post for more details.
  • We are making progress on the Post Filter improvements in Android, and we have improved analytics events to analyze offline usage.
  • We fixed the existing UI tests and started the development of new ones for critical flows.
  • We started looking into mobile Gutenberg automated testing.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Gutenberg mobile: Media upload is in place, rotation optimization on Android, image links, some visual fixes. Second to last sprint before declaring v1.0! 
  • Android: Post Filters on the Post List view project started.
  • Offline Support: We are kicking off this project by improving the messaging for offline situations.
  • WordPress.org/mobile: We are working on a redesign for that page.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Gutenberg mobile: Focused on media upload and writing flow and the post title migration (into ReactNative). Fixed an issue with uploaded images from the camera and fixed a crash in certain new posts. 
  • iOS: Improvements to Post and Page Previews.
  • Android: Improved quality of featured images in Post Settings.
