Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Block Editor: We continued working on bug fixes after a smooth soft launch.
  • Post Filter improvements in Android continues.
  • Offline Support: iOS offline messages were migrated from Alerts to Notices.
  • Infrastructure: We continued working on end-to-end tests on Android and iOS.
  • Marketing: More progress on the https://wordpress.org/mobile/ redesign.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Block Editor (Gutenberg mobile): Some important bug fixes on the v1.0 while in beta rollout.
  • Post Filter improvements in Android continues.
  • Offline Support: On iOS we are migrating offline messages from Alerts to Notices.
  • Infrastructure: Migration to CircleCI completed, more work on end to end testing infrastructure.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Gutenberg mobile: We are releasing v1.0! Please head over the announcement post for more details.
  • We are making progress on the Post Filter improvements in Android, and we have improved analytics events to analyze offline usage.
  • We fixed the existing UI tests and started the development of new ones for critical flows.
  • We started looking into mobile Gutenberg automated testing.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Gutenberg mobile: Media upload is in place, rotation optimization on Android, image links, some visual fixes. Second to last sprint before declaring v1.0! 
  • Android: Post Filters on the Post List view project started.
  • Offline Support: We are kicking off this project by improving the messaging for offline situations.
  • WordPress.org/mobile: We are working on a redesign for that page.

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Gutenberg mobile: Focused on media upload and writing flow and the post title migration (into ReactNative). Fixed an issue with uploaded images from the camera and fixed a crash in certain new posts. 
  • iOS: Improvements to Post and Page Previews.
  • Android: Improved quality of featured images in Post Settings.

Mobile Team Update – January 15th

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • Gutenberg mobile: Work on writing flow, post title field, and visual fixes.
  • We improved app stability by fixing 11 crashes, including our most frequent crash on Android and a very frequent crash on iOS.
  • We fixed several bugs in posting/editing, login/signup, and media.
  • We improved localization and accessibility.
  • We improved errors and empty states.
  • iOS: Made some improvements to the post settings screen on iPad, fixed a crash that could sometimes happen when deleting a site on iPad, fixed a crash on the “About” screen in App Settings.
  • Android: Added Giphy support, more compatibility improvements for Gutenberg, and fixed some rare bugs.

Highlights for the last –-very quiet– two weeks:

  • Gutenberg mobile: Improved keyboard behavior, and worked on some visual fixes to blocks.
  • iOS: Made some improvements to the post settings screen on iPad, fixed a crash that could sometimes happen when deleting a site on iPad, fixed a crash on the “About” screen in App Settings.
  • Android: Added Giphy support, more compatibility improvements for Gutenberg, and fixed some rare bugs.
