• Core DevChat held on Nov 1st.
• Editor chat held on Nov 1st (agenda) – discussed if these meetings are or are not still viable.
• 6.4 RC3 postponed 2 days.

Releases

• GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ releases:
  • 🏁 17.0.0 RC1 released on Nov 2nd.
• 6.4 minor releases:
  • Call for 6.4.x Release Managers.
• 6.4 major release:
  • Current development phase: final phase of RCRelease Candidate A beta version of software with the potential to be a final product, which is ready to release unless significant bugs emerge..
  • 🏁 6.4 RC3 shipped on Nov 1st. (was postponed 2 days to give more time for needed fixes).
  • Bug scrubs: held on Nov 14th.
  • Code Activity:
    • 16 Core commits.
    • 31 Trac tickets closed.
    • 5 commits into Gutenberg’s wp/6.4 branch.
    • 19 commits into TT4 repository.
• 6.5 major release:
  • Current development phase: Early Alpha.
  • Core Trac:
    • 20 commits (-4 from last week).
    • 156 open tickets (+18 from last week).
      • 98 defects / bugs.
      • 58 enhancements, feature requests, and blessed tasks.
    • 7 early tickets (no change from last week).

Highlights:

• Hallway Hangout: Issues Triage Extending Gutenberg – the hangout will be held on Nov 10th.
