2022 is going to be a big year for WordPress as we get more and more people to use the new editor (and as a result make the editor even better)! We’re also going to be gearing up for a our 20th anniversary next year 😮 —I can’t believe this project has been around for so long!
For easy tracking, here are the big focuses for this year:
- Drive adoption of the new WordPress editor (though education, awareness, and better content for new WordPressers).
- Support open sourceOpen Source Open Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL. alternatives for all site-building necessities (through supporting Openverse, our suite of directories, and the way we present ourselves to the world).
- Open Source stewardship (through maintenance of our community programs, leading by example, and other project as we find them).
- Bonus: Get ready for WP20!
