Releases

In August, work on WordPress 5.9 and 5.8.1 started:

• WordPress 5.8.x release team and 5.8.1 schedule
• Preliminary Road to 5.9: a quick overview of the main areas and features currently underway for 5.9 in GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/.
• First dev-note for WordPress 5.9: refactor of the Gallery Block

Gutenberg/Full Site Editing (FSE)

• Gutenberg 11.2 and 11.3 were released.
• The Full Site Editing Outreach Program continued to propose interesting testing calls, and occasions for intereaction with the team working on it.

• Anne also posted the FSE Program Theme Design Survey Results
• There was one Hallway Hangout:
