Marketing Team update – 22 April 2020


In the team we are:

  • working on how people can contribute to the Marketing Team at WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. Europe’s online Contributor DayContributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time.   • supporting Online WordPress Meetups together with the Community Team. If you are organizing an online MeetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another.   • working on documents for the CoreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. team to highlight the work of the release team and component maintainers
  • continuing to work with WCEU Contributing Team on contributor stories and onboarding guides
  • rolling out a package of support for team members during the public health emergency and helping them to keep connected. This includes Virtual Coffee Breaks and informal ways to show how the team continues to contribute to the global WordPress project. For example, a photo mosaic
  • continuing to provide ways for newer contributors to get involved. This includes running collaboration sessions to help people contribute ideas, learn more about the tools and work of the project, and find ways to get involved.
