Mobile Team Update – April 7th

Highlights for the last two weeks:

  • BlockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. Editor: Added support for heading alignment buttons, continued working on a fallback mechanism for unsupported blocks, and several bug fixes. 
  • Full Site Editing: Shipped Cover block and refactoring of inner blocks. Some design updates for starter page templates completed. Columns and Buttons blocks continue to progress.
  • Other Projects: On Android we shipped dark mode, offline support for pages, and phase one of media editing. We’ve continued to improve the Information Architecture on iOS.
  • Infrastructure: We made some improvements to the UIUI UI is an acronym for User Interface - the layout of the page the user interacts with. Think ‘how are they doing that’ and less about what they are doing. testing infrastructure and we shipped release builds on CI for iOS.
