Plugin Review Team Status: 27 May 2019

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WORDPRESS.

We’ve begun experimenting with a shell (bash) script to scan plugins for common problems (out of date scripts, including jQuery, hardcoded paths, etc.). Due to the diverse nature of plugins, it’s unlikely this will ever be as precise as the Theme Check, however it’s certainly speeding up many checks and making it more reliable that we catch code that shouldn’t be in a pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party at all.

We’ve also resumed processing bounced emails, hence the elevated numbers of closed plugins.
