# October 18th Support Team Meeting Summary

## General announcements

We’re working on updating the support guidelines, it’s being done via GitHubGitHub
GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can
easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are
free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced
the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors
can be reviewed and discussed before being merged by the repository owner. [https://github.com/](https://github.com/)

Our helpful tools (Also Viewing script and such), as noted in [https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/helpful-tools/](https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/helpful-tools/),
have moved slightly. As userscripts no longer reliably update over gist files, it’s
recommended to remove your existing one and re-install from the links provided on
that page.

## Checking in with international liaisons

Things are fine according to the international liaisons.

## Getting ready for 5.0

We should start working on the new BBQ post (the master topic for the new release
