Design update 14th July

Worked on/released this week:

  • Dashicons: removed external `brew`, `fontforge`, `ttfautohint` dependencies from the build system, now to build Dashicons only node and grunt are required: @folletto
  • Dashicons: fixed a bug introduced by the above that wasn’t able to parse certain SVGs.: @folletto
  • Dashicons: updated README instructions with indications for GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ and the community Slack channel.: @folletto
  • Shed light on what worked / didn’t work from failed “Image Flow” project: @sonjaleix

  • Gutenticketing – Followup on a number of tickets. A bit of a quieter week, trying to give feedback on some of the UIUI UI is an acronym for User Interface - the layout of the page the user interacts with. Think ‘how are they doing that’ and less about what they are doing. related issues coming up: @joshuawold
  • I thought a lot about how to get started on the design workshops task in TrelloTrello Project management system using the concepts of boards and cards to organize tasks in a sane way.   • Dashicons issues on githubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/.
