Plugin Team Update – May 29

PluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party Status Change Stats

  • Plugins requested : 119
  • Plugins rejected : 9
  • Plugins closed : N/A
  • Plugins approved : 64

At this point, we have mitigate the biggest problem (people submitting the same code multiple times) so rejections have dropped considerably. Thank you @sergey for the code! In turn, that means fewer accidental submissions and thus the lower number there.

Sadly the number of pending plugins continues to climb, due to people not realizing they have to reply or simply not getting the emails. We don’t have a fix for this yet. Ideas welcome!
