On the 3.8 Release:
- WordPress 3.8 was released last Thursday on schedule! Yay! If you haven’t upgraded already, you should do that right now.
- Automatic upgrades to 3.8, for those who enabled it manually, seem to be going well. As expected, the error rate is higher than our minor releaseMinor Release A set of releases or versions having the same minor version number may be collectively referred to as .x , for example version 5.2.x to refer to versions 5.2, 5.2.1, 5.2.3, and all other versions in the 5.2 (five dot two) branch of that software. Minor Releases often make improvements to existing features and functionality. (3.7.1), so we have some room to grow. Still, considering compatibility issues, and that an error does not mean a broken site, things look positive.
- 3.8.1 is scheduled for freeze as early as next week, for likely release end of next week, or early 2014.
