Update

  • RC1 came out, https://wordpress.org/support/forum/alphabeta is pretty quiet, though, which matches Nacin’s remark that RC1 was more RC than other RCs. Still, any help is welcome 🙂
  • Google’s Spellcheck API vanished on the 11th, intentionally (i.e. Google turned it off). This will be removed in 3.6 because of reasons. If people ask why, tell them it was Google’s fault and point ’em to https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/24789 if needed.

WCSF is coming! I’ll be there at Contributor DayContributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people get together to work on various areas of https://make.wordpress.org/ There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus. https://2017.us.wordcamp.org/contributor-day/ https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/getting-started/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day/., doing pretty much what you’re thinking of. The current plan is to pair up experienced ‘supporters’ with people who are new, to help walk them through getting their feet wet.
