Docs Team Update June 22, 2013

This week

  • The Docs Team had a great meetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. in Cincinnati this week at Open Help Conference and Sprints. This was the first time many of us had met in person and we had a blast!
  • We hashed out a concrete roadmap for documenting WordPress — a summit action item — which is certainly worth a read.
  • We also achieved measurable progress on the Theme Developer Handbook during the sprints Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
  • Thanks to WooThemes, Automattic, and 10up for sending employees and to all of the people who traveled to participate in our so-called “Docs Summit”. Check out the make/docs post for a full recap.

Next week

  • I expect we’ll recap progress made at Open Help Conference and move forward with initial aspects of the roadmap.
  • Look for a forthcoming analysis of the ~1600 responses we got in the Codex survey. More details on that soon.
