Mobile Group Update for June 5th, 2013

Update

  • Android Notifications: we’re fixing a few bugs that turned up during the betaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process..
  • WordPress for iOSiOS The operating system used on iPhones and iPads. 3.6, the NUX update (better welcome guide and log in/sign up process) has been released. 🙂
  • iOS Native Reader project for WordPress.comWordPress.com An online implementation of WordPress code that lets you immediately access a new WordPress environment to publish your content. WordPress.com is a private company owned by Automattic that hosts the largest multisite in the world. This is arguably the best place to start blogging if you have never touched WordPress before. https://wordpress.com/ blogs progresses. Currently working on a reblogging feature and improvements for the iPad. A rough beta was planned for this week but may slip to next given the remaining tasks.
  • Windows Phone: We’ve planned a new release to address the top five bugs and enable galleries for self-hosted blogs.

What’s Next

  • Android Notifications: release date has been pushed out to June 10th to address some bugs revealed during the beta.
  • WPiOS 3.6: A small bug-fix release to address some minor issues and other bugs not specifically related to 3.6.
  • iOS Native Reader: Hoping for a rough beta by the end of this week but may slip to next given the tasks remaining.
