Docs Team Update May 10, 2013

This week

  • WordPress now has a Balsamiq team account. Balsamiq is a great tool for creating quick, feature-rich UIUI UI is an acronym for User Interface - the layout of the page the user interacts with. Think ‘how are they doing that’ and less about what they are doing. mockups and is available for use by contributors to WordPress and related projects.
  • We’ve already gotten some great feedback from the documentation survey posted last week. Please take a few minutes and fill it out if you haven’t yet.
  • After a discussion in yesterday’s chat, the consensus is to leave handbook comments open until it’s deemed “complete”.
  • With all of the incoming Post Formats stuff in 3.6, we’re opting to split the Post Formats Codex page in two, one for users, one for developers.
  • Adopt-a-Codex-Page continues on full steam. Lots of contributors doing great work sprucing up those pages.

Next week

  • Work will continue restructuring and fixing up the RevisionsRevisions The WordPress revisions system stores a record of each saved draft or published update. The revision system allows you to see what changes were made in each revision by dragging a slider (or using the Next/Previous buttons). The display indicates what has changed in each revision., Post Locking (new), Menus and Post Formats Codex pages. The goal is have them completed in time for the 3.6 release.
  • We’ll be publishing the “master list of changes” for the 3.6 Codex Sprint next week and looking for feedback and volunteers on priority items.
