Support Team Update – April 30

Just as a general reminder: Since we’re about to have a new version of WP, the frustrated users will be coming in droves. It’s very important you remember to keep calm and treat people how you would like to be treated. Dial back your attitude, and if you can’t, you do not have to reply to a post.

The corollary to this is remember the WP mailing lists and IRC chats are NOT private lists/groups. Anyone can see them and read the logs. So your behavior on those places is totally transparent.

Now

  • WordPress 3.6 BetaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. 2 has dropped. There are still quirks, please keep an eye out in the forums.
  • Remember to move posts to the right forum 🙂 If there’s an alpha/beta post about WP 3.5, move it out to Troubleshooting and so on
  • If a tracTrac Trac is the place where contributors create issues for bugs or feature requests much like GitHub.https://core.trac.wordpress.org/. ticket is raised for a bug in Alpha/Beta, mark the ticket resolved so we know it’s being handled. If they keep posting, tell them to use trac or (if it’s not related) make a new post.

Last Week

Same as this week, only Beta 1 😉
