Plugins Directory Team Update for 04/15/13

WordPress makes extensive use of JS for a better user experience. While PHP is executed on the server, JS executes within a user’s browser. https://www.javascript.com/. APIAPI An API or Application Programming Interface is a software intermediary that allows programs to interact with each other and share data in limited, clearly defined ways. v2. The API will be discontinued on May 19, 2013. Affected plugin authors are urged to update before then. Any plugins still using the v2 API after May 19th will be closed. Affected plugin authors will also be notified by email soon.
  • A pretty busy week for SVNSVN Apache Subversion (often abbreviated SVN, after its command name svn) is a software versioning and revision control system. Software developers use Subversion to maintain current and historical versions of files such as source code, web pages, and documentation. Its goal is to be a mostly compatible successor to the widely used Concurrent Versions System (CVS). WordPress core and the wordpress.org released code are all centrally managed through SVN. https://subversion.apache.org/. commits by authors (the most since I’ve been tracking).
