# Plugins Directory Team Update for 02/11/13

Highlights from the week:

 * Still working on the backlog.
 * Miscellaneous improvements to internal tools.

   functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality
   or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written
   in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These
   can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory [https://wordpress.org/plugins/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/)
   or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party. developers that communicate with
   Twitter to do so using the v1.1 APIAPI An API or Application Programming Interface
   is a software intermediary that allows programs to interact with each other and
   share data in limited, clearly defined ways. and not the soon-to-be-discontinued
   v1.0 API. Newly requested plugins will not be accepted if they use the v1.0 API.

Plugins Directory stats for the last week:

 * Requested : 213
 * Rejected : 38
 * Closed: 10
 * Approved: 135
 * Commits by plugin authors: 3,106
 * Currently in the request queue: 68 (11 older than one week; 13 with no replies)

Plugins support email stats for the last week:

 * New: 92 (85 closed, 7 still open)
 * Currently open: 20 (7 with no activity in the last week)
