Support Team Update for 15th January

Status quo. Since we don’t have a great way to count metrics, it’s enough to say that we’re still truckin.

This week’s meetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. in IRC will be Thursday, per usual. You do not have to be an ‘official’ member to show up! Everyone is welcome, even if you just want to ask “How would you deal with this person?” Half of support is knowing the right answer, the other half is in how to phrase it.

The results of our nomination poll for reps was pretty widespread, hence the delay on that. Soon. Soon. We’ve been adding new Forum Moderators, but don’t feel you must be a mod to be a rep. If you’re interested in it, just in general (no I’m not quitting in a fiery flame of fire), you can always ask me what it means 😉 Mostly it’s just keeping up with the general WP news, being available and willing to answer weird questions, keeping calm when people call you names, and being willing to take up issues with scary people like Otto. It sounds all important, I know, but really it’s just doing what you’re doing already, be it on IRC, Forums, or anywhere else, and knowing how to use the official channels to get stuff done.

Interested in being a moderator on the forums? Join wp-forums and speak up 🙂 We ask the same: Be helpful, be willing, be calm.

And remember! You’re never alone with Support! Just ask for help from your fellow members, and we’ve got your back.
