This week the impossible happened. New sign ups on the forums have to fill in a Captchas. No one is really happy about that, but the bbPressbbPress Free, open source software built on top of WordPress for easily creating forums on sites. https://bbpress.org. spam has gotten pretty bad. We’re open to suggestions (note: we’re running an older and customized version of bbPress 1.x on .org right now).
Spam prevention and management is the hardest part of support. Next is explaining to people they’ve posted in the wrong place (like when people post a support question on a make blog, or on tracTrac Trac is the place where contributors create issues for bugs or feature requests much like GitHub.https://core.trac.wordpress.org/.).
