Plugin Directory Team Update for 12/10

The PluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the Plugin Directory or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party Directory’s day-to-day mission is fairly consistent. It’s largely what we’ve done this past week and what we’ll continue to do in the coming week. This is summarized in our intro and first status report.

A few highlights from this week:

  • Various improvements to internal tools used to facilitate evaluating newly requested plugins.
  • In preparation for WP 3.5, Mika emailed a heads-up to plugin authors whose plugins are using now-deprecated image filters.
  • More dropping of the spammer hammer.

  • Requested : 176
  • Rejected : 46
  • Closed: 23
  • Approved: 114
  • Commits by plugin authors: 3,174
  • Currently in the request queue: 76 (7 older than one week; 34 with no replies)

Plugins support emails:

  • New: 110 (107 closed, 3 still open)
  • Currently open: 17 (only 1 with no activity in the last week)
