Opening up WordPress.tv to the World!

So, for those of you who tuned in to the office hours confab on IRC today, you know that we’re talking about doing something big. VERY BIG.

We’re opening the uploader to the public… BOOM!

We’re considering opening up the forward-facing uploader (similar to what WC organizers use) for anyone to contribute video content to WordPress.tv, including tutorials, WordPress meetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. presentations, and other educational content.  Wow. 🙂

For this merry band of moderators that kind of announcement means a lot of exciting changes, and will also require all of your help to pull off successfully.

Help us with submission standards

Here’s where you can help out. We need to create good guidelines for what can and can’t be published, and hopefully have a draft document pulled together by the time we meet next week.

I’ve started a new page for us to all work on, so please visit Public Video Submission Standards page, and think about the following things:

  • What is there that needs to be changed?
  • Anything missing that needs to be added?
  • What should we be telling people we will (and will not) accept for submission?

Leave your thoughts in the comments on that page or in this post
