to use, extend, and contribute to WordPress through synchronous and asynchronous
learning, as well as downloadable lesson plans for instructors to use in live environments,
available at [learn.wordpress.org](https://learn.wordpress.org/).

## I’m new to the Training Team!

Thanks for joining! Please walk through our brand-new **Onboarding Program**. This
will give you an overview of the team, help you set up the accounts you need to
contribute, and even walk you through your first contribution!

[Getting Started – The Training Team Onboarding Program](https://make.wordpress.org/training/handbook/getting-started/)

We expect the onboarding program above to take 30-60 minutes. Once you’ve completed
onboarding, jump into these other activities to continue contributing!

### Review published content and submit feedback

WordPress software continues to grow, and new features get added all the time. Reviewing
published content and updating content is important in keeping the Learn WordPress
website current. Follow the [team guide about reviewing published content](https://make.wordpress.org/training/handbook/training-team-how-to-guides/guidelines-for-reviewing-content-on-learn/#are-you-reviewing-content-after-it-is-published)
to leave feedback about any content below. (Reviewing older content would be helpful!)

[Lesson Plans](https://learn.wordpress.org/lesson-plans)

### Submit new content topic ideas

Browse the Learn WordPress website and let us know if there are any topics you think
would be valuable to add. Share your topic ideas in our GitHubGitHub GitHub is a
website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be
shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to
host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept
of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be
reviewed and discussed before being merged by the repository owner. [https://github.com/](https://github.com/)
repository using the button below:

all content waiting for reviews before it is published. Follow the team’s [Guidelines for reviewing content](https://make.wordpress.org/training/handbook/training-team-how-to-guides/guidelines-for-reviewing-content-on-learn/)
and leave your reviews right there in GitHub.

### Subject Matter Expert

A [subject-matter expert](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subject-matter_expert) is
someone who has extensive knowledge in a particular field or area and can provide
advice, guidance, and direction in that subject. If you would like to help vet topics,
please visit the [Vetting Topic Ideas handbook page](https://make.wordpress.org/training/handbook/training-team-how-to-guides/how-we-use-github/vetting-topic-ideas/).

### Triage Developer Issues

Are you a developer interested in working on issues for the Learn website? If so,
then working through our [Website Development project board](https://github.com/orgs/WordPress/projects/71)
is our priority today.

Start by reviewing issues “In Review”. Any help you can provide regarding issues“
In Progress” would be great, too. But in general, any attention you can give to
any issue would be much appreciated.

If there are enough interested Developers, then we can also create a developer-focused
working group so that they can focus on related issues.

   a WordPress-related topic, we’d love to have you volunteer as a speaker. You
   can also co-host a workshop by teaming up with someone who has speaking experience,

## 1. News

### **󠀁[Meeting Note Takers](https://make.wordpress.org/training/handbook/about/team-roles/)󠁿**

Here is our current note taker roster:

 * August 26th – [@jaydipgoswami](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jaydipgoswami/)
 * September 2nd – [@vasantrajput](https://profiles.wordpress.org/vasantrajput/)
 * September 9th – [@jaydipgoswami](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jaydipgoswami/)
 * September 16th –  [@nikunj8866](https://profiles.wordpress.org/nikunj8866/)

### Looking for feedback

We’re planning to host regular workshops within the Training Team, covering a variety
of WordPress-related topics. To help us shape these sessions, we’d love to hear
your feedback!:

 * What topics would you like us to cover?
 * How long do you think each workshop should be?
 * Do you have any other suggestions for making these workshops more valuable?

Your input will help us create engaging and impactful learning experiences for the
community.
Special Thanks to [@clk87](https://profiles.wordpress.org/clk87/) for
offering help in this area.

### Looking for volunteers

 * We’re looking to translate the WPCredits Presentation into multiple languages.
   If you’d like to help by translating it into your language, please leave a comment
   below or [Slack thread](https://wordpress.slack.com/archives/C02RW657Q/p1756192506802909?thread_ts=1756192506.802909&cid=C02RW657Q).
   Here’s the document we’ll be working on:
   [https://gamma.app/docs/WordPress-Credits-2ul3dmv61tpover?mode=doc](https://gamma.app/docs/WordPress-Credits-2ul3dmv61tpover?mode=doc)
 * We’ve made significant progress on the thumbnail generator project, with most
   thumbnails successfully updated. However, a few content thumbnails still use
   outdated designs or don’t comply with our thumbnail generator guidelines. If
   you’re interested in volunteering for this task, simply leave a comment, and
   we’ll provide the necessary instructions to get started.
 * We need help from contributors, they will just visit all learn WordPress posts
   and list the url of lesson where thumbnails need to redesign. We can guide them,
   but we need some interested persons.

### Update for last week’s triage squad

 * There was no meeting last week.

## News

### 󠀁[Meeting Note Takers](https://make.wordpress.org/training/handbook/about/team-roles/)󠁿

Here is our current note taker roster:

 * 10 June – [@ketanniruke](https://profiles.wordpress.org/ketanniruke/)
 * 17th June – [**@utsav72640**](https://profiles.wordpress.org/utsav72640/)
 * 24th June – **[@hemant-ahir](https://profiles.wordpress.org/hemant-ahir/)**
 * 1st July – [@vasantrajput](https://profiles.wordpress.org/vasantrajput/)
 * 8th July – [**@jaydipgoswami**](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jaydipgoswami/)

### Looking for feedback

 * To become a note taker, we propose a rule that requires participation in the
   Training Team Guide Program. This will ensure proper guidance for note takers
   and help reduce errors when publishing meeting notes. Additionally, we suggest
   setting the following terms:
 * You may apply as a note taker only once a month.
 * You can serve as a note taker a maximum of five times.
 * This will ensure new contributors to participate and experienced contributors
   to focus on other form of contributions like translation, providing feedback
   and content creation.

### Looking for volunteers

 * We’ve made significant progress on the thumbnail generator project, with most
   thumbnails successfully updated. However, a few content thumbnails still use
   outdated designs or don’t comply with our thumbnail generator guidelines. If
   you’re interested in volunteering for this task, simply leave a comment, and
   we’ll provide the necessary instructions to get started.

### Other News

 * We would like to sincerely thanks [**@Jamie Madden**](https://profiles.wordpress.org/digitalchild/)
   for his invaluable contributions as a team representative, which have greatly
   supported our Training Team’s growth. As we transition, we’re excited to announce**
   [@Rade Jekic](https://profiles.wordpress.org/rjekic/)** as our 2nd Deputy Representative

**Looking for feedback**

 * We currently don’t have any projects or posts looking for feedback.

**Looking for volunteers**

 * Last year [89 Tutorial posts](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1D_caQxJs55eIinGTlIb7du_vE5FBxn4ri7pAWI5K2RE/edit?gid=0#gid=0)
   were migrated to become lessons on the new Learn siteLearn site The Training
   Team publishes its completed lesson plans at https://learn.wordpress.org/ which
   is often referred to as the "Learn" site.. Unfortunately, these lessons are missing
   the [WP.tv](http://wp.tv/) embed, and that means the [wp.tv](http://wp.tv/) link
   must be added to each lesson via a blockBlock Block is the abstract term used
   to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout
   of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in
   the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery
   into a single consistent API and user experience.. We need volunteers to help
   re-add all the videos to each of these lessons. You can read the details details
   [here](https://github.com/WordPress/Learn/issues/3115).
 * At Learn WordPress, we develop a variety of educational content to support the
   WordPress community. Our current focus is on creating localized content to make
   learning more accessible and relevant. If you have experience translating content,
   this is a great way to contribute.
 * We need people to continue to create the materials where our existing team members
   left off. If you want to create a script, record the audio or the video, please
   get in touch.
 * Right now, we are in desperate need of people who can work on our existing and
   new content so that we can continue to provide new learning materials for our
   community. If there is anything you can do, please reply in the relevant threads.

**Update for last weeks triage squad**

 * Triage squad will be restarted in April.

### **Triage Squad Updates**

 * The next triage-squad session is scheduled for Thursday, 12 December, at 07:00
   UTC.
   Due to a scheduling conflict, I won’t be available at that time. I’d like
   to find out if anyone else is available to host.Alternatively, we can reschedule
   this for next week, Thursday the 19th.I also suggest that this be the last triage
   session for the year, and we’ll pick it up again in 2025

 * The training team is looking for feedback on adjusting contributor badge requirements.
   As the weighting is a little uneven considering some of the task load required
   for them.
