Adding chapter markers for your video
Once a video has been published to WordPress.tv, it is also added to the WordPress YouTube channel. One of the benefits of it being hosted on YouTube is that creators can add chapter markers to videos, allowing viewers to easily skip to the content they want to see.
Fortunately, adding chapter markers to YouTube videos is as easy as adding a list of sections with the appropriate timestamp. For example:
00:00 Introduction
00:11 Setting up your pages
1:10 Setting your home page display
2:23 Setting up your posts
3:38 Setting up your navigation menuNavigation Menu A theme feature introduced with Version 3.0. WordPress includes an easy to use mechanism for giving various control options to get users to click from one place to another on a site.
6:18 Setting up your site logo
6:45 Adding your navigation menu to your footer
7:35 Selecting a style
8:15 Adding content
By adding these chapter markers to the YouTube video on Setting up your pages, posts, site logo and navigation menu, YouTube automatically creates the chapter navigation for the video.
