Looking for feedback
- The Training Team is planning to host Office Hours on July 26, 2026, and is seeking community feedback and participation to make the session successful.
- Contributors were asked to confirm whether they support the proposed date and to volunteer for key roles, including meeting host and note-taker. When asked about the meeting agenda, the organizers confirmed that the discussion topics will be shared in a dedicated post soon. In the meantime, contributors were directed to the list of ongoing Office Hours issues and the project board containing the planned discussion topics.
- The team also invited feedback on how to improve future Office Hours and encourage greater community participation. Contributors are encouraged to share suggestions either during discussions or through the corresponding GitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged by the repository owner. https://github.com/ issue – https://github.com/WordPress/Learn/issues/3535
- The Training Team is actively updating its handbooks and continues to welcome community contributions. Contributors are encouraged to share suggestions, improvements, and ideas to help enhance the handbook content. Feedback can be submitted through the https://github.com/WordPress/Learn/issues/3447 initiative and will play an important role in improving the documentation for the entire community.
Looking for volunteers
- The Training Team is looking for volunteers to support several ongoing initiatives aimed at improving Learn WordPress resources and maintaining the team’s GitHub repository.
- Volunteers are needed to review and consolidate existing content by joining one of two groups: one focused on updating the Training Team handbooks and another dedicated to reviewing course materials. The team will help organize contributors and guide them through the process.
- We currently have 530 open issues. It would be great to get support in reviewing and reducing their number. You can help by:

- The Training Team has gathered numerous ideas for upcoming Training Team Office Hours. Contributors are encouraged to follow the ongoing discussion in the #training Slack channel and are welcome to join the conversation by sharing ideas and participating in planning future Office Hour sessions.
- Building on the momentum of our last learning cohort (Block Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. Theme Development Course cohort), we are excited to launch our next cohort focused on Plugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party. Development this month. We look forward to helping more students expand their WordPress skills and explore new opportunities within the open-source ecosystem.

- During the open discussion segment, contributors were invited to suggest topics for discussion by commenting on the meeting issue.
- No additional topics were raised during the session, though participants were encouraged to continue conversations asynchronously in the discussion thread.
- The meeting concluded with appreciation extended to all participants who attended synchronously, as well as those who will contribute asynchronously. The team confirmed that discussions will continue in the following week’s meeting.
