The icebreaker question was: What is one WordPress feature, tool, or workflow you discovered recently that made your development or design process easier? Contributors mentioned tools and features including AI connectors, Cove.run for creating local reproduction sites, exporting a website as a theme, the Cover block Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. for hero sections, full viewport height in the Cover block, and block bindings.

Looking for volunteers
- We need help finding content that could be updated and consolidated. The team would like to have two groups of volunteers:
- One group to review all the Training Team handbook content.
- One group to review the courses.
- Please state your interest, and the team will help you organize and start working on these important issues.
- The team has started creating thumbnails for lessons that still need them. You are welcome to contribute to this important and creative project. See Create Thumbnails for Learn WordPress Lessons #3428 for details on how to work on the remaining thumbnails.
- We currently have 532 open issues. It would be great to get support in reviewing and reducing their number. You can help by:
- Going through issues one by one.
- Identifying outdated or irrelevant issues.
- Suggesting fixes or next steps.
- Adding comments where needed before closing or updating issues.
- Some issues have been labelled Good First Issue. If you want to start contributing, look for issues with this label, particularly those with “Feedback” in the issue title. You can help verify them by following the handbook guidance on validating content feedback issues.
Let’s work together to clean up and keep the repository well-organized.

- The Training Team Update – July 5th, 2026 has been published, sharing the team’s monthly update for June.
- At WordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. Rajshahi Contributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people get together to work on various areas of https://make.wordpress.org/ There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus. https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/getting-started/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day/, 10 contributors joined the Training Team table. Two new contributors started the Training Team Contributor Course, and @devmuhib served as the Training Team table lead.
- Local WordPress communities can now learn How to Bring Your Community to Make WordPress Slack.
- The team is looking for WordCamp US 2026 Contributor Day Table Leads. Contributors planning to attend and interested in representing the Training Team, or those who know someone who would be a good fit, are encouraged to submit a nomination.

Project updates
- The team successfully completed the Training Team Office Hours meeting on June 27 and scheduled the next meeting for July 26. Read more in the Office Hours Meeting Recap – 27th June 2026.
- Building on the momentum of the Block Theme Development Course cohort, the team is preparing to launch its next learning cohort, focused on Plugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party. Development, in July. The team looks forward to helping more students expand their WordPress skills and explore new opportunities within the open-source ecosystem.
