Looking for feedback

• Now that the new Learn WordPress site has launched, There are a number of items on the post-launch list, which you can see here: https://github.com/WordPress/Learn/milestone/21

• If you encounter any bugs or want to suggest an enhancement, please use the feedback template in GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. Looking for volunteers

• Call for contributors: Intermediate Plugin Developer learning pathway
  • @jonathan has put out a call for volunteers to help with creating the next Developer Learning Pathway– please comment on this post if you would like to be a part of these efforts 

• Project Thread: Content Maintenance Process Update Phase 1
  • We are still looking for contributors to help shape and work on this project. Please comment on the post if you’re interested.
  • We have collected feedback about Learn WordPress’ North Star, and the team reps will reflect on what was discussed and present some options to the team in our next meeting.

Updates from last week’s dev-squad triage session

• There was no dev squad last week. You can join this week!

• The calendar for when these meetings occur has also been updated on our Training Team site welcome box, so please be mindful that the dev squad meets biweekly (every other week) on Thursdays 07:00 UTC. You can view our scheduled meetings in this calendar.

Other News

• On August 2, the new Learn.WordPress.org went live. Huge congratulations to everyone involved in this project, which has been so long in the making!
• It was announced publicly in this Make Training Team post, and this WordPress.org News post.
• I’m so happy to see the new site launched with all the hard work put in by so many different teams and people. Congratulations to everyone! 
• This week there will be a few marketing initiatives to get the word out and introduce people to the new site:
  • Get a guided tour of all the exciting Learn WordPress changes from the Training team’s Jonathan Bossenger, Wes Theron and Kathryn Presner. Check out the next edition on Thursday, August 8 at 21:00 UTC or watch the recording from August 6’s workshop.
  • The Learn WordPress launch was a part of a Media Corps Briefing on Wed. August 7.

• We’re starting to see reviews come in with a great review in WPShout.

• As part of the Faculty Program retirement plan, @Kathryn Presner wrote up a new handbook page with a brief history of the Training Team and requested feedback. Thank you to all who provided suggestions and clarifications. The new page has been published, including a note at the bottom that if anyone has further clarifications or corrections to suggest, they can fill out the contact form, which will come into Help Scout. https://make.wordpress.org/training/handbook/about/history-of-the-training-team/

Open Discussions

Jamie Madden @digitalchild– While I was working on last months Learn Newsletter, I found it hard to find recent videos on WordPress.tv and impossible on the YouTube Channel. We do have https://wordpress.tv/category/learn-wordpress/ and a feed here – https://wordpress.tv/category/learn-wordpress/feed/.

In order for this to work, we need to remember to add the Learn WordPress categoryCategory The 'category' taxonomy lets you group posts / content together that share a common bond. Categories are pre-defined and broad ranging. when submitting videos to WordPress.tv. For Online Workshops, the category Learn WordPress Online Workshops should be added as well.
