I’d like to add an item to the open discussions, but sadly I won’t be around for this meeting.

At the moment, the link in the Team Profile Badges page in the handbook to request badges links to a GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ issue, where someone needs to request which badge they want, and from there a team repTeam Rep A Team Rep is a person who represents the Make WordPress team to the rest of the project, make sure issues are raised and addressed as needed, and coordinates cross-team efforts. has to link them to one of the team association pages, to make the request.

To avoid confusion, I’d like to suggest that we update the handbook page to include the relevant links to request membership to either the “training contributor” association or the “training team” association, and remove the step requiring folks to post in the single GH issue.

Ideally, the link to the “training contributor” association request page should be included under the training contributor requirements, and the link to the “training team” association request page should be included under the training team requirements.

If the GitHub issue exists because it allows the training team reps to review the request before sending folks to the relevant association page, then we should ideally have two GH issues, one for contributor requests, and one for team requests.
