 3. I made some suggestions to the Enqueueing Scripts and Styles, which [@jenwill](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jenwill/)
has wonderfully revised. Rather than pasting in SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative
Group Chat Platform [https://slack.com/](https://slack.com/). The WordPress community
has its own Slack Channel at [https://make.wordpress.org/chat/](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/),
I am sharing here as well.
 4. WordPress relies on several programming languages to provide a solid, yet extensibleExtensible
This is the ability to add additional functionality to the code. Plugins extend
the WordPress core software., framework to build upon. The server-side language
PHPPHP PHP (recursive acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-used
open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web
development and can be embedded into HTML. [https://www.php.net/manual/en/index.php](https://www.php.net/manual/en/index.php)
does the heavy lifting behind the scenes to provide data to the browser. The browser
employs client-side languages like HTMLHTML HTML is an acronym for Hyper Text
Markup Language. It is a markup language that is used in the development of web
pages and websites., CSSCSS CSS is an acronym for cascading style sheets. This
is what controls the design or look and feel of a site., JavaScriptJavaScript
JavaScript or JS is an object-oriented computer programming language commonly
used to create interactive effects within web browsers. WordPress makes extensive
use of JS for a better user experience. While PHP is executed on the server, JS
     executes within a user’s browser.
and jQuery to produce a rich and seemingly limitless user experience. At its coreCore
Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team
builds WordPress., WordPress already manages a long list of scripts and styles
to produce a functioning web page. Many scripts and styles are included in WordPress
core; others are added by plugins or themes. WordPress has built-in systems to
keep track of all the scripts and styles, keep them from conflicting with each
other, and use them in the correct order. In this lesson you will learn how to
tap into the system WordPress uses to manage the myriad scripts, and correctly
load the scripts and styles in your theme you need so that WordPress can manages
     them efficiently.
 5. The method for adding scripts and styles to WordPress is essentially the same
for both plugins and themes. In this Lesson Plan, we will be customizing a theme,
but what you will learn is also applicable to building plugins. The proper way
to add scripts and styles to your theme is to enqueue them in the functions.php
file. The details of how to do this depend on several things, including whether
you are enqueueing scripts or styles, and whether they will be used on front-end
pages, admin pages, or login pages.

      * I also thought that since this Lesson Plan is about Enqueueing Scripts and
Styles, and not about creating a child themeChild theme A Child Theme is a
customized theme based upon a Parent Theme. It’s considered best practice to
create a child theme if you want to modify the CSS of your theme. [https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/](https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/),
I thought we should give them a child theme upfront:
      * [Child Theme](https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4dq6kAD2ZPeV0hma3gtU21HdkU)
      * And then for the lesson we can build on it by adding some scripts, such as:

        [Slider Scripts](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MhPCOlLr2g7MVuLsGoKpl625Hiu-SgTbwtvcIFl9FWE/edit?usp=sharing)
      * And we could include the final product, if need be:

 9. Not sure if this [Lesson Plan](https://make.wordpress.org/training/?post_type=handbook&p=6441&preview_id=6441&preview_nonce=5047e732a5&_thumbnail_id=-1&preview=true)
