  1. Welcome
  2. Lesson Plan Updates
    1. We’re working on our theme workshop curriculum right now. These are the lessons that we have still assigned (this may be missing some):
      • CustomizerCustomizer Tool built into WordPress core that hooks into most modern themes. You can use it to preview and modify many of your site’s appearance settings.: Menus/ @mindsize
      • Templates/ @juliekuehl
      • Themes/Plugins Relationships/ @coachwp
      • Customizer: Site Icons and Logos/ @melindahelt
      • Basic Theme Configuration/ @chmchm
      • Theme Documentation/ @meaganhanes
    2. These lessons are in need of a writer. @chanthaboune would like to prioritize the lessons with the asterisks if anyone is interested particularly in those:
      • *How to Find Theme-Specific Documentation/
      • *Customizer: Static Front PageStatic Front Page A WordPress website can have a dynamic blog-like front page, or a “static front page” which is used to show customized content. Typically this is the first page you see when you visit a site url, like wordpress.org for example. vs. Content Feed/
      • *Customizer: HeaderHeader The header of your site is typically the first thing people will experience. The masthead or header art located across the top of your page is part of the look and feel of your website. It can influence a visitor’s opinion about your content and you/ your organization’s brand. It may also look different on different screen sizes. and Background Images/
      • *Theme Troubleshooting/
      • Theme AccessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accessibility)/
      • Theme Internationalization/
  3. No copyediting updates though @lunacodes is getting started with doing some copyediting of plans in the backlog.
  4. Updates and Announcements
    1. @mikemueller is going to be able to go to the Hack the Hood workshop with @chanthaboune in October!
    2. @bethsoderberg is going to write a blog post about reworking the current Make site. We’ll start with doing a site map of the current site and an audit of all content. @meaganhanes, @melindahelt, and @courtneyengle are interested in working on this project.
