# Do we want to change our meeting time?

In [yesterday’s team meeting](https://make.wordpress.org/training/2016/06/09/recap-for-june-7-2016-meeting/)
we discussed that the current meeting time (17:00 UTC on Tuesdays) may not be the
best meeting time for folks anymore and decided that we should poll everyone and
evaluate whether or not we should move the time. Once we have a sense of our internal
availability, we’ll check these times against the times of the other WordPress team
meetings to make sure those aren’t overlapping with our meeting either.

And so, a few questions for everyone:

 1. Is the current meeting time problematic for you?
 2. Are there other times/days of the week that would definitely not work?
 3. Are there other times/days of the week that would be much better for you?

Please comment on this post and we’ll discuss in next week’s team meeting! In your
comments, make sure to specify availability either in UTC time or to specify the
time zone that you’re referring to.

 4. 1. Not so much the time or the day – it’s my schedule that interferes with my
     regular attendance.
      2. Weekends. I typically am offline and not near a computer
on the weekends. 3. Not for me. 🙂

 7. 1. Not always – more of an issue in BST as that is teatime here 😉
      2. Weekends
would be an issue for me too 3. I think the time you have is probably best for
     global participation

 10. 1. At the moment no, but in August I will be teaching 3/4 grade and will not be
     available until after 3 EST.
      2. Sunday is definitely not a good day for me. 3.
Any day after 3 would work.

 13. My schedule changes all of the time too. I try to schedule other commitments around
this meeting and most times I’m successful, but not always. I would vote for Tuesday,
Wednesday or Thursday during EST working hours would be best for me.

 16. 1. The current time works for me 98% of the time. I intentionally schedule around
     it.
      2. In agreement that we should never meet on weekends. 3. Not necessarily–
I just need to have the ability to plan for whenever it’s going to be.

 22. 1. Yes. I have two other recurring meetings at the same time as the training team.
I was fine until the DST switch, but since have been mostly unable to attend.
I do try to follow along and squeeze it in if the other meetings get done early.
I do like Tuesday. And when the time changes again in the fall I will no longer
     have a conflict.
      2. Weekends are out. Fridays wouldn’t be good. 3. An hour earlier
and I’d be golden. But my schedule could change too.

 26. 1. In general, it works for me. I just have to schedule around it.
      2. Monday
definitely won’t work for me. 3. If we keep it in this general time, then Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday are optimal for me. Afternoons are almost always better.
     🙂

 35. In today’s (June 21) team meeting, we tossed around the idea of changing the meeting
time to 19:00 UTC. Would that work for folks? I know Melinda is going to look
up the times of other team’s meetings to make sure we wouldn’t be conflicting
     on that front.
