Themes Team Meeting Notes – July 11, 2023

Attendees:

1. Weekly updates

In the past 7 days,

  • 668 tickets were opened
  • 669 tickets were closed
    • 655 tickets were made live.
      • 21 new Themes were made live.
      • 634 Theme updates were made live.
      • 1 more were approved but are waiting to be made live.
    • 14 tickets were not-approved.
    • 0 tickets were closed-newer-version-uploaded.

For now, 8  BlockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. themes are currently reviewing.

2. WCUS Contributor DayContributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people get together to work on various areas of https://make.wordpress.org/ There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus. https://2017.us.wordcamp.org/contributor-day/ https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/getting-started/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day/.

For those who attend the WCUS and the Contributor day of it, I would like to request them to join the themes table as well.

In the themes table, table leads will guide you on how to contribute to community themes. So, this year WCUS CD will focus on building block themes for the community @poena, and @onemaggie will be there to guide you on what is community themes and how to contribute to them.

If you are interested in contributing, you can also contribute online for this community theme.

3. Open floor

During the open floor, @kafleg shared,

@kafleg requested theme authors to test your themes with the beta and RCRelease Candidate A beta version of software with the potential to be a final product, which is ready to release unless significant bugs emerge. versions of 6.3. You’ll see exciting features that you were looking for for a long time.

@greenshady requested meeting attendees to help on reviewing and writing the theme handbook.

P.S. While writing this meeting note, beta 4 is also released.
