The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. themes stats:

  • 12 Block themes are currently being reviewed
  • 17 The Block theme has been live for the last 7 days

2. Trademark in the Theme Name

During the meeting, we talked about using registered trademarks on theme names. But, we were not able to decide in this particular agenda. @williampatton said, “This one probably needs to go out in a post and seek some wider opinions.” William will write a post in the Make Themes blog to collect wider opinions. It will also give chance to participate in this discussion and later in the upcoming meeting, we will finalize it.

Almost all of the attendees were agreed not to have Trademark in the theme name.

3. Not relevant Theme URI

We have guidelines for theme URI and author URI, but these days theme authors make a loophole in those guidelines. @acosmin said, “As long as it doesn’t contain information about the free theme that is hosted on wp.org it isn’t allowed”. @kafleg said, “Reviewers need to check theme URLURL A specific web address of a website or web page on the Internet, such as a website’s URL www.wordpress.org properly and if there is something wrong smell, you either consult with others before approving it. We might give a look and decide”. We all agreed on this during the meeting.

4. Open Floor

We didn’t have anything during the open floor.
