Theme Review Team Meeting Agenda for 26 February 2019

The Theme Review Team holds a meeting the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month and we encourage all members and anyone interested to attend.

This meeting has a few items added to the agenda for discussion.

  • Asking Trusted Authors to help with reviewing themes outside of TA queue.
  • Discuss the idea of a once per month weekend review session and/or mentorship program.
  • Testing for latest updates to the Theme SnifferTheme Sniffer Theme Sniffer is a plugin utilizing custom sniffs for PHP_CodeSniffer that statically analyzes your theme and ensures that it adheres to WordPress coding conventions, as well as checking your code against PHP version compatibility. The plugin is available from GitHub. Themes are not required to pass the Theme Sniffer scan without warnings or errors to be included in the theme directory. pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party.
  • First look at GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ Phase 2 issues and designs.
