 3. Take away, I think, is that every theme SHOULD be responsive or they shouldn’t
be in the directory. It’s sad that we even have to filterFilter Filters are one
of the two types of Hooks [https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Hooks](https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Hooks).
They provide a way for functions to modify data of other functions. They are the
counterpart to Actions. Unlike Actions, filters are meant to work in an isolated
manner, and should never have side effects such as affecting global variables
and output. them. That should be a given requirement.
 4. Obvious that people are looking at the popular and featured themes primarily.
This should be highlighted on the main page and will always be the case.
 5. The problem with features being the #1 search filter, is the move for all custom
content moving to plugins is, by nature, a move away from features. Interesting
that is what people searched for…
 6. Color – Themes should just permit any color, hehe. That’s pretty obvious, but
white and clean win out for the WP.org searches.
 7. The subject filter should be removed, as it’s obviously not useful.

terms like: Magazine, Ecommerce (for themes which support Woocommerce, EDD, etc),
Forums (those with support for bbPressbbPress Free, open source software built
on top of WordPress for easily creating forums on sites. [https://bbpress.org](https://bbpress.org)
or other forum software), Social Network, Multiple Authors, etc.
