Design Challenge weekend info

As said before here this week is the design challenge weekend – 13th and 14th December. Things will kick off this week with 3 sessions this week:

Lets re-cap a bit. We have some goals for this weekend:

  • Raise the design standard of the The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. theme repo.
  • Matching up developers to designers.
  • Encouraging designers to create themes.
  • Offering resources for designers to learn to make themes.
  • Educating developers in design.
  • Get some kicking themes up in the repo!

Things will kick off with 3 blog posts going up on this blog:

  1. Designers looking for developers.
  2. Developers looking for designers.
  3. Designers doing it for themselves.

Then you get working on a theme! As the weekend progresses you can add in your comment leaving the theme you are working. We also will be having 4 planned blocks so you can be sure to get someone. These will run at the following times both on the Saturday and Sunday:

It would be great to see as many people as possible in Slack and really try and create or start creating some awesome themes this weekend. I know I’ll be working on one and look forward to seeing what others are!

As this is our first weekend like this we may adjust things as the weekend goes, but we’ll keep you posted throughout.
