This week’s meeting We started talking about contribution…

This week’s meeting:

  • We started talking about contribution days, coming back for updates on the ideas some people had.
  • We talked about how a contribution pack could be a good project. I’m going to run with some ideas for that and present.
  • @jcastaneda will get the doing_it_wrong theme up on GithubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ so we can all start contributing to it.
  • I’m going to put a make blog post up with some suggestions for the content of the doing_it_wrong theme and then get other reviewers to comment what they think should be in there.
  • There was a discussion about guidelines promoted by @grapplerulrich. It should be underlined again that unless it’s required a theme shouldn’t not be approved because of a guideline. No person (admin or otherwise) should change that without consensus and it being added as a guideline for required.
  • We need to make sure we have discussions in tickets about guidelines and help each other (including admins) to do the best reviews we can.
  • We talked about how some guidelines are ambiguous. This should be cleared up and not require lengthy conversations or confusion for new reviewers.

Next week we’re going to talk about New Reviewers.
