The Core Development Team builds WordPress.<\/span><\/span><\/span> Test Team is gearing up for<a href=\"https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2026\/community\/contributor-day\/\"> Contributor Day<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2026\/\">WordCamp Europe 2026<\/a>, taking place <strong>4 June 2026 at <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/europe.wordcamp.org\/2026\/ice-krakow-venue-guide\/\">ICE Krak\u00f3w<\/a> \u2013 the official kick-off to WCEU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Testing is one of the most welcoming doors into WordPress: you don\u2019t need to write a line of code to make a real difference, and by the end of the day you\u2019ll have touched software used by over 40% of the web. Whether it\u2019s your first <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>Contributor Day<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Contributor Day<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people get together to work on various areas of <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/\">https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/<\/a> There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus. <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/support\/handbook\/getting-started\/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day\/\">https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/support\/handbook\/getting-started\/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span> or your fifteenth, there\u2019s a seat for you at the Test table. Try the<a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.wordpress.org\/nimeshatxecurify\/profile\/jobs\/\"> applying-for-jobs<\/a> <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>flow<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Flow<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Flow is the path of screens and interactions taken to accomplish a task. It\u2019s an experience vector. Flow is also a feeling. It\u2019s being unselfconscious and in the zone. Flow is what happens when difficulties are removed and you are freed to pursue an activity without forming intentions. You just do it.<\/span><\/span><\/span>, browse<a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#candidates\"> candidates on the Jobs<\/a> site, and leave feedback on the post or by opening an<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/WordPress\/wordpress.org\/issues\"> issue on GitHub<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Find a bug? File it.<\/strong> A clear, reproducible report on<a href=\"https:\/\/core.trac.wordpress.org\/newticket\"> Trac<\/a> is a genuine contribution in itself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve the docs.<\/strong> Help sharpen the Test Team Handbook and testing guides so the next newcomer has an easier path than you did.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bring whatever skills and curiosity you have \u2013 table leads and experienced contributors will help you find the right task. Everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A gentle reminder: it\u2019s <em>Contributor<\/em> Day, not <em>Contribution<\/em> Day. The goal is to find a meaningful way to contribute, not necessarily to land a finished patch by 16:30. Work you start tomorrow might wrap up next week \u2013 and that\u2019s exactly how <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>open source<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Open Source<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Open Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified.  Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL.<\/span><\/span><\/span> is meant to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83c\udf10 Collaboration and Community<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contributor Day isn\u2019t only about the work \u2013 it\u2019s about the people. It\u2019s a room full of contributors swapping ideas, helping each other unstick, and celebrating small wins together. For many of us, the connections made across the Test table are what keep us coming back year after year.
