In recent weeks, various changes have been made to both the design and to <a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\">WordPress.org<\/a> profiles to better integrate career functionality with the aim to help foster careers in WordPress directly in <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>WordPress.org<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>WordPress.org<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization.  <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/\">https:\/\/wordpress.org\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span> infrastructure. This call for testing is to help ensure that those of us working on this are making changes that properly serve those seeking candidates or looking for jobs. If you have feedback that doesn\u2019t align perfectly with the call for testing but that relates to the overarching vision of adding more career connections, please still share it in the comments below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is it?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The recent updates touch two surfaces:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\">jobs.wordpress.net<\/a> \u2014 refreshed design and a more direct path between job listings and the candidates behind them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\">WordPress.org<\/a> profiles \u2014 new fields for job history, key accomplishments, and a \u201clooking for jobs\u201d toggle, so a contributor\u2019s profile can double as a lightweight candidate page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal is for someone\u2019s WordPress.org profile to become a meaningful representation of their professional work in the ecosystem, and for that profile to be discoverable from the jobs board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The flows below are suggestions to give your testing some structure, but please don\u2019t feel obligated to follow them in order or complete all of them. The important question is whether these surfaces feel solid enough to help people find jobs and find candidates, and whether you notice any bugs, <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>UX<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>UX<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>UX is an acronym for User Experience - the way the user uses the UI. Think \u2018what they are doing\u2019 and less about how they do it.<\/span><\/span><\/span> gaps, or unexpected behaviors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Suggested Testing Flows<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you don\u2019t fall into either the applying for jobs or looking for candidate bucket, please still test by trying out just the applying for jobs functionality and reviewing both experiences in WordPress.org profiles and on the Jobs site. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Applying for jobs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add job history<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log into WordPress.org and edit your profile by following this link <a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.wordpress.org\/profile\/edit\/\">https:\/\/profiles.wordpress.org\/profile\/edit\/<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find the Jobs tab and add one or more past roles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm the entries displayed correctly on your public profile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of note, we\u2019re working on adding in an importer for a CV but we also want to ensure the base <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>flow<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Flow<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Flow is the path of screens and interactions taken to accomplish a task. It\u2019s an experience vector. Flow is also a feeling. It\u2019s being unselfconscious and in the zone. Flow is what happens when difficulties are removed and you are freed to pursue an activity without forming intentions. You just do it.<\/span><\/span><\/span> of adding jobs works well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turn on \u201copen to job opportunities\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From your profile settings, enable the \u201copen to job opportunities\u201d\u00a0 toggle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From there, decide if you want to enable the \u201cShow an \u201cOpen to work\u201d frame on my <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>Gravatar<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Gravatar<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Is an acronym for Globally Recognized Avatar. It is the avatar system managed by WordPress.com, and used within the WordPress software.\r<a href=\"https:\/\/gravatar.com\/\">https:\/\/gravatar.com<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Save Settings.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm your Gravatar changes and displays the frame.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of note, your profile will then appear on <a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#candidates\">https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#candidates<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add key accomplishments<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From your profile, add one or more key accomplishments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm they appear in the expected place on your profile.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Try removing an accomplishment and confirm it\u2019s removed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Browse jobs on<a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\"> jobs.wordpress.net<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\">jobs.wordpress.net<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Browse the listings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Try any filters. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View results and confirm they are correct.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking for candidates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Review how candidates appear on the Jobs site<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#candidates\">https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#candidates<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm relevant details (current job, role) are visible at a glance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on different candidates and review how job information is presented on their profiles.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Review individual profiles<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#candidates\">https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#candidates<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on different candidates available to hire and review how job information is presented on their profiles on WordPress.org.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Post a job listing (only do this if you have a real job to post)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once more, only do this if you truly do have a job to post! Please do not post fake jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/post-a-job\/\">https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/post-a-job\/<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill out the information in the form for a real job you want to post.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Submit job.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#jobs\">https:\/\/jobs.wordpress.net\/#jobs<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View the job after submission and confirm it appears as you\u2019d expect.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Share your feedback by June 25th, 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please comment on this post to share feedback.
