3. Announcements 📣

WordPress 6.6 RC1 was released on June 25. We are now in a hard string freeze. Note that the dev-feedback and dev-reviewed workflow is required prior to committing to the 6.6 branch (handbook reference).
WordPress 6.5.5, a security release, was shipped on June 24
Gutenberg 18.6.1 was released on June 25
We are currently in the WordPress 6.6 release cycle. The WordPress 6.6 RC2 release is scheduled for today, July 2. Please review this post for an update about the Release CandidateRelease Candidate A beta version of software with the potential to be a final product, which is ready to release unless significant bugs emerge. Phase.
Gutenberg 18.7 is scheduled for July 3 and will include these issues. This version will NOT be included in the WordPress 6.6 release.

4. Focal Group Updates

Use a spider to crawl the test website this doc was created at WCAsia by @nagpai and finally was reviewed and approved at WCEU. This info is ready to go in our handbook
@ankit-k-gupta is requested to add this page to our handbook which he agrees to do soon.

5. Questions/Blockers

@mobarak is interested in using the Spider Crawl test but failed to figure out how to do this, He asked a question here, https://make.wordpress.org/test/2024/06/03/help-test-wordpress-6-6/#comment-3256. @webtechpooja agrees that we should have a video explaining it and asked for a volunteer to create such a video.
