2. Announcements 📣

• WordPress 6.5 “Regina” was released on April 2. Thank you to everyone who worked on, tested, and supported this release. 
• Now we are officially in the WordPress 6.6 release cycle. This WordPress 6.6 Planning Proposal & Call for Volunteers post published last week to collect interest.
• Hallway Hangout: Let’s chat about what’s next in GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ : If you’re interested in joining, the Hallway Hangout will happen on Thursday, 25 April 2024 at 04:30 GMT+5:30. A Zoom link will be shared in the #core SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. channel before starting and all are welcome to join.
• Dropping support for PHP 7.0 and 7.1 : Support for PHPPHP PHP (recursive acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-used open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. https://www.php.net/manual/en/preface.php. 7.0 and 7.1 will be dropped in WordPress 6.6, scheduled for release in July 2024. The new minimum supported version of PHP will be 7.2.24. The recommended version of PHP remains at 7.4 or greater.

• Test Team Profile Badge! – We have almost finalized the criteria for awarding badges. Thanks to @ironprogrammer and @oglekler for their valuable feedback. Thanks to @ankit-k-gupta for working on this.
• Use a spider to crawl the test website. @nagpai worked on a draft of this at WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. Asia. He will be working on pending things during this week.

6. Call for testers/visibility

• Understanding and Testing Font Library Feature with block editor theme.
• The next Gutenberg release will be 18.1, scheduled for release on April 10, and will include these issues.
