BLOCKBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. EDITOR

What Testing is Most Needed:
If you are comfortable testing in a language other than English, please test in that language.
- Follow any of the steps below, but the fact that it’s listed here means we already thought of it, so most importantly, get creative and find the things we didn’t think of!! 🤔
- Bonus points: try using VoiceOver for any of the following!
- Try using it in the wild. Please create pages and posts on different site types with different themes and include the WP apps in your life like a user does.
- Block Editor
- Audio block:
- File picker opens automatically, use it to insert from URL. Dismiss the bottom sheet and add from URL by tapping “Add Audio” (File samples can be found here if you need them)
- Use valid and invalid URLs, use a URL for a file type that isn’t audio. Try with very large or very small files.
- Add an audio block to posts and pages with other block types in them.
- Add an audio block using “/”
- Add to existing (Edit) and new (Create) posts and pages.
- View and play the audio in webview, on desktop and in Reader
- Reusable blocks:
- With reusable blocks already created on existing sites, insert them into posts and pages (old and new) on various site types.
- Add them using the bottom sheet block picker and the “/”method.
- View in webview, on desktop and in Reader
- Change a reusable block on the web and use the updated block in your post.

- Known Caveats
- Until we add support for unbounded queries, the app only fetches the last 100 reusable blocks from the site so the inserter menu will show up to 100 items.
- The search form takes into account the reusable blocks but we’d like to note that the feature is still WIP so it could change in the future.

- Check the actual list of likes (for both a post and a comment) and confirm the notification detail matches
- Like others and your own posts and comments, verify there are no regressions
- Be on alert while using the app that likes and notifications behaviour is normal
Test Setup
- Sign up for our TestFlight program by opening that link on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to Account > App Settings > Privacy Settings and turn on the Collect information option.
- Go to Account > Help & Support and turn on the Extra Debug option.
- Go to My Site > Settings > Use Block Editor to enable the block editor for new posts.
- If you are comfortable testing in a language other than English, please test in that language.
Where to Report
Please report bugs in GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ at WordPress-iOS or gutenberg-mobile (for block editor issues) if you are comfortable doing so or add a comment to this post if you have any questions, feedback, or issues you’re not sure how to report.
Instructions for Reporting Issues
- Search the GitHub repository first to see if the bug is a known issue. If you verify a known issue, please leave a comment noting the app and device info you tested with!
- For new issues, please follow the template GitHub repository that shows up when creating a new issue.
- Please be aware that a bot will ask for labels but you may not have rights to add them. Know that labels will be added by someone on the triage team.
- Please do not include full Activity Logs which include tokens. Activity Logs can be very helpful for debugging but you should only include them if you have removed tokens as those should not be shared publicly. You can find the logs at Account > Help & Support > Application log.
