- Rethink the format: encourage speakers to present without a slide deck.
- Spread the word: share information about how you made the event more sustainable.
- Invite attendees and speakers to share their ideas for improvements.
- Invite everyone to volunteer at the Sustainability Team table on Community Day, and contribute to relevant projects or the WordPress Sustainability Team.
- Organize a WordPress Event (formerly known as Creative or NextGen events) focused on sustainability. A creative approach or format is great for raising awareness.
Meetups and other small WordCamps events are intended to foster local communities. Still, the speakers might not be local, and the talks could interest a wider crowd.
If your event includes remote speakers or live streaming, you can do the following:
- Record the talks and upload them to WordPress.tv.
- Consider recording the talks using a mobile phone and a tripod.
- If you live-stream the event, ask participants to turn off their cameras.
