Netherlands and highlighted some interesting talks:
➡️ Looking for feedback
- Inclusion of the ‘Sustainable Events Handbook’ in the ‘WordCamp Organizer Handbook’: feedback requested to review the content to be included.
- Inclusion of 12 monthly tips for sustainable events in 2025 newsletters to events organizers: feedback requested to review the proposed tips.
- Collecting lanyards at the end of a WordCamp: Opinions and ideas regarding possible hygiene issues requested in this thread.
- Team Reps voting/renewing for 2025: As the 4 team reps are willing to stay on their role, a P2 P2 or O2 is the term people use to refer to the Make WordPress blog. It can be found at https://make.wordpress.org/. Post will be published inviting people to join and selfnominate. If there is no opposition or new nominees, we will skip repeating the election this year and they will stay on their role until the end of 2025.
2️⃣ Come and Contribute
➡️ Social Sustainability
➡️ Environmental Sustainability
- Web sustainability guidelines for WordPress: We have arrived to the phase of proposing an initial structure for the document.
- WordPress Sustainability Plugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party: While we figure out how to move the plugin from Csaba’s repo to our Sustainability Team GitHub repository, we will continue testing and working it on Csaba’s repo. Please, check and leave your feedback on this issue and this Gdoc of ‘needs to haves’ and ‘nice to haves’.
